Ok, so I missed Bohm's thread, and so it shows that it goes both ways. What I've seen since I've been on here as of late, is an almost compulsive like need for non-believers to get involved in discussions involving believers clearly for believers. So, the believers do the same to the non-believer threads. I don't get the why? I mean it's understandable if the thread is designed for debate between both believers and non-believers, but why does one side feel the need to get involved when it's not supposed to involve them? It's like showing up for a party you clearly weren't invited to.

Why do so-called believers need my approval or that of any atheist?
by Band on the Run inrecent posts from those who may mistakenly consider themselves "believers" demand a safe haven in this forum.
they don't like associating with atheists or someone like me.
of course, there are hundreds of thousands of sites for christian discussion already set up on the internet.

Something I don't get is, and I'm asking question from neutral position not taking sides with the atheist or believing crowd here on JWN. My question, why do atheists feel the need to jump into every discussion clearly not meant for them to take part of? I realize that it's hypocritical of me to ask that question considering I'm on an apostate forum, but I don't believe it invalidates my question. It's a given, that if a believer initiates a thread requesting feedback from other believers, one of the non-believers on this forum will feel obligated to throw their two cents in, thereby ensuring a flamefest. Often when the non-believer abruptly enters the discussion, they'll say something snarky and condescending towards the believer in a conscious or possibly unconscious effort to belittle the believer personally, or their beliefs. I just don't entirely get that. Why jump in a thread or discussion clearly not meant for you and then feel offended when they don't agree with your position? It makes me wonder if some of the atheists on this forum are going above and beyond in an effort validate their own beliefs, or lack of belief.

WTS overboard w/suggested presentation
by doinmypart inthe nov 2013 km contains an article that is ridiculous in its level of minutae.. they focus on the word "because".
they tell jws to use the word "because" when explaining why they're at the homeowner's door.
writing department, you wrote an article on the use of the word "because"?

You know, I'm almost at a loss for words with this thread. All it is a simple suggestion for publishers to consider when looking to engage someone in conversation after showing up to their home anannounced and unexpected. This suggestion along with two demonstrations will be covered this week at the Service Meeting. Keep in mind it's only a ten minute part, just a fraction of the total amount of items to be discussed at the meeting. Let you folks tell it, its all we're going to review at this meeting. I can only imagine how much of a complaining spirit some of you had when still in.

Home schooled witness kids
by stillin insorry if i'm stepping on any toes here, but i haven't seen anything positive about home-schooling...at all.
the notion is that parents are taking advantage of the formative years to inculcate more worthwhile values while protecting their kids from worldly influences.
they end up with lazy, socially inept, illiterate duds who haven't a clue.

I guess it all boils down to how much a Christian parent is willing to allow their child to be exposed to worldly influences. I mean on one hand you can't hide your children from the world any more than you can get off of it. Plus you want your child to have at least some level of interaction so as not to be socially awkward. At the same time both public and private schools are basically the breeding grounds for modern day Phillistines and Caananites. So it's really a tough decision to make.

James 3:13-18
13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. 14 But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. 15 Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. 17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. 18 Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.
It goes without saying that verses 17-18 don't apply to JWN.

What have the 'myriads of angels' ever done for humanity?
by yadda yadda 2 inthink about it, myriads upon myriads of do-nothing, never lift a finger angels floating around, ignoring all the untold pain and suffering on this planet for thousands of years.
what have all these millions of angels ever done for anyone?
occasional random materialisations in ancient israelite times?.

The more pressing question to consider is, what are the myriads of angels getting ready to do?

I like a little Blue Eyed Soul, at least the old school stuff like the Righteous Brothers, Steely Dan, and Hall/Oates, of course Bobby Caldwell.

I wonder at times whether or not Lett is as crazy as his facial expressions make him appear to be.
